Did you know what you wanted to be when you were 18? When I was 18, I knew I wanted a career with technology - since the age of 12, I was fascinated with technology and enjoyed building simple programs and websites. However, when I graduated high school to start my college journey, I was uncertain about what area of computer science I wanted to pursue, such as software engineering, cyber security, machine learning, and data science. My college journey consisted in trying the fields I found interesting by taking classes or learning more about them from others. I found software engineering the most fascinating to me during my Junior year. Now that I had a goal in mind, I made it my mission to land some internships for the summer before graduation. I have been fortunate enough to have obtained a few internships which, have given me excellent opportunities to grow as a software engineer. Throughout my professional and academic experience, I have worked with automation, software development, website design/creation, web applications, and APIs. I find it very rewarding to solve all of the puzzles to create something out of nothing that can potentially make someone’s life easier.
